Our Approach
We are active in the global physical trade of refined and concentrate metals, covering a wide range of non-ferrous metals including Zinc and Lead.
Our company is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland with regional offices in North and South America, Africa and Asia. Our aim is to cover the move of material from origin countries to final destination and provide business development, trading and risk management expertise. Thanks to our experienced and dedicated team, we are generally considered as the third largest trading-house in the world for concentrates and the fifth for refined metals.
Uses of Zinc and Lead
Galvanising
The most popular use of Zinc is galvanising other metals in order to protect them from atmospheric corrosion. Zinc coatings are common in the automobile and construction industries to protect surfaces.
Radiation Shield
Lead is useful as a protective element against radiation used in medical devices such as X-ray machines as well as to protect workers against gamma radiation present in nuclear devices.
Health
Zinc tablets are commonly used as a dietary supplement to increase the immune system against common cold and treat eating disorders. From dietary supplements to usage in topical creams and even shampoo, Zinc is widely used in health related products.
IXM Asset
Callao Warehouse
The warehouse is a central component of IXM’s Peru activity which consists in sourcing, blending, storing, transporting and exporting metals and minerals including copper and zinc concentrates produced mainly in the centre of the country. The warehouse location, close to Peru’s main polymetallic mining areas with railway and highway access, makes it the best option for export. In August 2021, IXM increased storage capacity to reach a total throughput capacity of more than 500'000 WMT.
